Melvina becomes seriously ill needing a transplant and Allan has to come up with a couple of lakhs to save her life. So he becomes a contract killer goes to Mauritius meets a bar dancer Shaina( Tulip Joshi).In he meantime Melvina conveniently cops out and Shaina and Allan fall in love. But hey, the conflict’s not over yet. There’s another contract killer around, Khalid(Lucky Ali) who wants Allan’s head so the story extends up to the time when Allan gets shot so close to he runway. Well that’s the only reference to the moniker I could find. DOnt know really why this film was called ‘Runway’, me thinks ‘Rub Away’ would have been more appropriate.

The film is technically shoddy, performances are off-kilter and the dialogue delivery is terrible.Deepal Shaw looks scrawny and lacks appeal, Tulip is pretty but appears to be a mannequin, just no acting talent there. While Amarjeet should just be grateful he got this movie at all to do, thanks to his fathers’ nepotism. At least he can fool his grandkids( his kids would never believe him),that he once was a star(ha ha!). There is no saving grace in the film. When you see a priest holding a copy of a classic ‘ Wuthering Heights’ as a substitute for a bible during a funeral, you just want to hoot. Atleast I did!

“This is a film for the masses but with a rich international feel to it that would break the mass versus class barrier. We have the best of both the worlds in the film with Kareena playing a supermodel. The Akshay-Kareena combination is the one to watch out for,” Nadiadwala had told IANS. “Kambakkht Ishq” explores the relationship between two individuals who are completely opposite in nature. Viraj (Akshay) is a stuntman in Hollywood who detests women, while Simrita Rai (Kareena) is a part-time supermodel and doesn’t believe in love. The two meet but they love to hate each other especially because of Simrita’s waspish tongue. But the turn of events forces them to be together as Simrita’s best friend Kamini and Viraj’s brother Lucky decide to get married. Simrita and Viraj try to stop the wedding, but they end up falling in love with each other instead.

“Both the producer and I dreamt big and we sort of took a simple and interesting story and made it larger than life,” said the director. “Kambakkht Ishq” is releasing with 2,000 prints across the globe. It is an important film for Akshay as his much-publicised last two releases – “Chandni Chowk To China” and “8X10 Tasveer” – turned out to be duds. “I’m expecting great response for this film. Though I had worked very hard in ‘Chandni Chowk…’ , the response didn’t turn out to be as expected. Some people and critics didn’t like it and ‘8X10 Tasveer’ was more like an art film, which has a niche market in India. ‘Kambakkht Ishq’ is a complete entertainer and I hope the audience appreciates it,” Akshay said.

He says the length and the budget of the film is reasonable. “It’s a reasonable budget (film) around Rs.45-50 crore and is in the similar range as ‘Chandni Chowk To China’ or a ‘Singh Is Kinng’. (And) we won’t take much of your time. The film boasts of some power-packed entertainment in two hours and 15 minutes. I guess that is quite reasonable for a film of this scale,” he said. Apart from a diverse promotional strategy, the advance booking for the film opened Sunday instead of a Wednesday for other films. With the unprecedented buzz and the huge star cast, the film is expected to lend a hand in reviving the box office.

Also there would be voice-overs in Hindi and English, both done by Hrithik whose love story the film chronicles in a style that would recall David Lean’s “Brief Encounter” and K. Balachander’s “Ek Duuje Ke Liye”. About being designated the director of the decade at International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) awards in Macau, Rakesh Roshan said: “I’m flattered. There were other truly deserving directors in the reckoning. I must’ve done something right.”

In the film, the kid actress of the television show ‘Ballika Vadhu’, Avika Gore will also be appearing in the role of grand daughter of Anupam Kher, who is busy with a handful of Bollywood movies and international films. After finishing shooting in India, Anupam will leave for Gurinder Chadha’s film “It’s A Wonderful Afterlife. ” Morning Walk is a beautiful and heart tugging tale of two families different from one another yet connected through a special bond. It is about an old couple, who meet after decades.The old man discovers that he had a daughter from the women whom he courted years back. Anupam Kher had been heading censor before Sharmila took over the seat and both the actors were previously seen together in a film called “Jawani.” Both will be doing a film “Morning Walk” together to potray the couple ,after a long gap.

Geoffrey Rush has expressed interest in returning as Barbossa. Director Gore Verbinski will not return to direct so he can focus on other projects.Beforehand, Verbinski was hesitant about directing, citing the incomplete scripts he worked with filming the sequels.Keira Knightley has stated that she does not wish to continue playing her character of Elizabeth Swann as she wants to do different projects. In June 2009, Bruckheimer stated Disney would prefer Pirates of the Caribbean 4 be released before The Lone Ranger film he, Depp, Elliott and Rossio had been working on for release in 2010. He also hoped Verbinski would return to direct after his BioShock adaptation had been put on hold.

Kambakkht Ishq is directed by Sabbir Khan and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala. The film, a remake of the 2002 Tamil film Pammal K. Sambandam. The film will feature Akshay Kumar and Kareena Kapoor in pivotal roles along with actors Aftab Shivdasani and Amrita Arora in supporting roles. Hollywood actors Sylvester Stallone, Denise Richards and Brandon Routh will be appearing in cameos, reportedly playing themselves. Originally scheduled to release in December 2008, the film was postponed due to extensive production work and is now slated for a release on July 3, 2009. Kambakkht Ishq explores the relationship between two individuals as different from each other as chalk and cheese.

No matter how many times they are pushed together, there are only fireworks… no fire. Well, no one seems to know. Of course large portions of the movie were filmed elsewhere in the Midwest, but it seems like the kind of flick that cries out for a splashy event at the Chicago Theater, complete with vintage cars and ladies in feather boas. Oh well. In the meantime we’ll just have to watch The Untouchables again … or maybe go on one of those bus tours.

The film was rumoured earlier to be inspired from the Kevin Spacey starrer 21 and though the film does have some similar moments, Leena has changed the storyline by including Kingsley’s character in the movie. Scripted by Shivkumar Subramaniam and Leena Yadav, the film is produced by Ambika Hinduja and marks the debut of actor Shakti Kapoor’s daughter Shraddha, along with Dhruv Ganesh and Vaibhav Talwar.

Reportedly, the title song of the film sound like the lyrics ”Jana Gana Mana Rann Hai” has been twisted from the national anthem ”Jana Gana Mana…”. Consequently, the Censor Board did not approve of the song in the movie and had banned its promos. Reacting to it, Ram Gopal Varma appealed against the ban on the title song in the Supreme Court. ”Rann”, delves into the highly competitive world of television news reporting in India, putting the spotlight on the media industry’’s insatiable appetite for advertisers and viewers.

The film is touted as a behind-the-scenes look at how news channels greedy for ratings are being manipulated into sensationalise stories to grab eyeballs. Apart from Amitabh Bachchan, the movie also features Paresh Rawal, Manisha Koirala and Rajat Kapoor, Riteish Deshmukh, Purab Kohli and Gul Panag. In the film, Amitabh Bachchan plays the head of a round-the-clock news channel.

Its credits include some of Hollywood’s major names. The Stan Winston special effects house, for instance, is creating a robot that will be a replica of the Indian film star.
